i've got another one on a different machine - 10hrs at 1% running:
1hz6A_BOINC_NATIVEJUMPS_CLOSE_CHAINBREAKS_VARY_ALL_BOND_ANGLES_ALL_BOND_DISTANCES_SAVE_ALL_OUT__1306_2624_0

It's running as a service so I can't see whether it's moving atm...

Should I abort these?

The longest 1hz6a-Model took about 1h30 for me on a 3GHz-machine. I guess your's stuck! Happens pretty often with the new 5.34 (aborted WUs too!!)

Unfortunately no high credits for me :)
But my last 6 or 8 results are all credited granted = claimed. Never seen this in the last 6 or 8 weeks. Something is really strange here...

If you look at your results on the website after they have been returned, are they failing in some way?

No, all results seem to be OK. Claimed = Granted only happened with FRA_t368-WUs, DOC-WUs are granted different to claimed.

How long has it been running for ?

About 4 hours sticking at that point

Is there a "movement" in the graphics? if yes, the WU is still alive

Not necessarily, as there are very different interactions between the amino acids. Interactions between fat-like amino acids are much weaker than those between charged groups or by forming hydrogen bonds. So a large protein with mostly fat-like amino acids may have a comparably high lowest energy while a short one made up of many charged groups and having a lot of hydrogen bonds is lower in energy.
<snip>

WOW! Thanks for the detailed answer!

Post:
Most of the jobs that are currently running are for the refinement category of CASP7 in which structures are provided that are close to the native structure and the challenge is to get even closer for high resolution models. Since we are starting with close to native structures, the energies are low.

Just out of couriosity, is there a relation between the number of amino acids and the lowest possible energy? In other words: If I have a protein with X amino acids and a (currrently crunched) lowest energy of Y, can I determine if the energy is good or bad?

31) Message boards : Rosetta@home Science : Hacker? (Message 24677)

In my workunit I there is another computer added. Its not mine! What's the reason for this, for I did not ask to share my account. Could this be a hacker?

The WU was sent to the other computer first. Deadline was Aug 21st, the WU wasn't reported back so it was sent to your machine. In the meantime the other machine reported the WU back. It's nothing to worry about...

Yes I agree all who crunch are equally important, but some do absolutely nothing for Rosetta. They just register, do bugger all and complain about everything.

The more you contribute, the more you are "allowed" to complain? People who contribute not much have to shut up? You can't be serious..

There are people that don't have a crunching farm, most of the Rosetta participants have only one computer and try to do their best. Why shouldn't they mention problems/wishes?

Regarding the posts in the last 24h I wish those people who "discuss" leaving Rosetta would would stop discussing and really leave! NOW! It's IMHO better for the project. The loss in crunching power is not so great as many of them believe.

I'm waiting a few days to see if it levels out. The server was down for half a day earlier this week, it could be a combination of 36 hours worth of credits being reported in 24. . and boinc users who couldn't get new rosetta wu's had a defecit to fill if they run multiple projects.

Predictor@Home closes for an undetermined time, there may be a lot of switchers heading to Rosetta. Users/Hosts in the last 24h is raising too...

anyone know how rosetta went fron 37 tflops to 47 t flops in only 2 days //where there that many more computers on board????

Maybe the "Predictor effect"? Predictor@home closes for an unknown time, maybe we see some switchers increasing the TFlops. Seems reasonable, the number of new users/hosts increased too.

congrats to all you Italians out there!

Don't know what Zizou was thinking... Rome and Berlin looked like the places to be last night (and the rest of Italy I guess)!

This is what makes this world cup so special. 1998 german "fans" almost killed a french policeman. Last Tuesday german fans celebrate with italian fans after our semi final loss. It was a party lasting four weeks. World cup winner or not, it simply was great fun.
