1) Message boards : Number crunching : out of work (Message 26065)

Post:
the daily quota is per cpu(core), not per machine.
errors and aborted WUs decrease the quota, valid returned WUs increase it again.
quick dirty workaround would be reset project (or re-attach? not 100% sure there), but find out why the quota got down that far first. :)

i had the same happen when i changed the overlclocking on this machine a couple of times (bios recogniced it as a different cpu) and still have the same host-id i got when i first attached this host, never changed the os though.

Post:
yes, thanks for your efforts :)
my very limited personal results look similar, most are damn close, with a rare outlier in either direction, seems to average out in the long run for me too though.
6) Message boards : Rosetta@home Science : DISCUSSION of Rosetta@home Journal (2) (Message 23838)

Post:
if its not too much effort could we at least be told how much different (if theres much at all) the rosetta totals, nothing team/user/host specific would be?
7) Message boards : Number crunching : Removing credits backdated to february. (Message 22701)
Posted 17 Aug 2006 by doc :)
Post:
my impression was that it would be possible to recalculate stuff till february after somebody asked if it was possible, it would be more effort than it was worth though most likeley, and i did not get the impression that anything in that matter was decided yet.
just to give you one more possible interpretation :P

(i can not say that i saw the last posts on the ralph forums though, not sure when it went down)

writing in allcaps is considered shouting :)

Post:
you got 2 accounts with the same name :)
this one is the founder of your team and has the profile
and that is the account you are posting from, which has your pc with all your credits attached to it.
edit: to fix it, i would login with the other account (the teamfounder/profile one) to give the teamleader to your active account. then go back to your active account and recreate your profile and abandon the one without credit.

bring the level playing field, yes!
bringing the ppl using optimized clients back to normal levels will ofcourse bring a lot of complaints, but thats in my oppinion the only fair way to go, you cant give X times more credit than seti or whatever other project gives.

(i dont want to know how much of the estimated TFLOPS on the frontpage is from wrong benchmarks ;))

"should"? my opinion, no, cause you will still loose everything that happened since the last checkpoint.
but you can remove it from memory without crashing the WU now if you want.
:)

there are more jumps early in each run now, like 1.02 and 1.03, but it still can take a long time to reach the next model. i did not really watch that close yet though to be sure if there are much more checkpoints or not :)

nice to see that.
any ideas where the recent increase in new users and hosts the last days is coming from? much more than the usual average :)
