Posted 1 Mar 2025 by Random Post: I get wu's that show up in tasks and transfers but they are stuck at 0. I have cleared all the tasks, no change. Updated the project, no change and finally reset the project with a computer restart. Its been like this for a month. Linux 7.18.1. What's going on? Update: It all of the sudden started working. Didn't change anything, but its the first time it has worked in maybe a month or two. Surprised the IP address fix hasn't been fixed or the certificate issue. Instead we have all these work-arounds. We'll see if the wu's complete and get accepted while there is work available. |

Posted 3 Feb 2025 by Random Post: Yes, IMO it's a serious security issue as it is a prime opportunity for a bad actor to access your computer by telling you it is someone other than who it really is. Now I also think the risk is MUCH higher on Win than Mac or Linux, but still, having a current/valid SSL Certificate is so basic it is beyond me that with the resources available, it was ever an issue. An excuse if there is one is that the limited code allows only basic access to your computer even with a bad certificate. It's serious enough to me that I stopped crunching here and w/o someone in tech explaining it in detail and officially, I'm gone. This project is not worth risking security/privacy on my computer. Even if they don't care, I do. Especially so sad for a once great project which did so much. |

Now it seems to be one issue after another when they have paid people and University resources when many projects are run on almost all volunteer's. I like the projects they do be, but wow what a disappointment that they can't do basic security stuff and basic communications. Something has gone horribly wrong from the way the project used to be. |

Posted 30 Jan 2025 by Random Post: A certificate that's not updated seems like a security risk to me. Not what DC needs. When will all be fixed? Am I the only one concerned about this? Do we have a date where all SSL certificates will be updated so it's at least safe. I'm not a super cruncher so my work wont be missed but I suspended Rosetta until there is some hint of clarity. |

Posted 29 Jan 2025 by Random Post: Rosetta was working fine in early Dec, then started it again 2 weeks ago and now I get WU's in my list, status is "downloading" in tasks but never do. In transfers they all show 0 progress, not even 1 %. I abort them and wait until the next restart, more WU's but same thing. I "reset" the project, another day and restart and still the same. Linux 7.18.0. I've read some about bad certificates which seems to me to be a security issue. I'm on Linux for better security, I don't want to chance it if Rosetta is turning into a threat. What's going on? Thanks |
