Post: I became "top 5% RAC" instead of the original "top 25% RAC", but I have not upgraded or introduced new hardware in any way. This is bad because it probably means some top computation contributors left the project due to system instability. Many of the huge core count systems would be set and forget corporate systems- they attach them to the project to give them a workout before they go into production. If they notice they're not getting their workout, they'd probably just move them to another project with work- they're not going to spend the time trying to figure out what the problem is and how to work around it. Tony, Looking for Medical CPU Based ,,,,, Denis@Home is and has been primarily Heart related research for years. They recently restarted with a new Beta Application that has settled in nicely. Give them a try if you haven't already. Respectfully Bill F |

Post: Having Tasks lay around in "Ready to Report" status is no fun to look at .... But I notice that the Science appears to be completed and I appear to be getting credit .... So ugly to look at.... but the Task data appears to be getting through. Bill F |

Post: Why is it that in the Tasks tab, all of my work units show that they will be late (Completion before deadline) and already are late based on the deadline column. I'm on a 12 core Mac and all of my other project burn through units, but the Rosetta one consistently has them all run late. I've even tried tweaking settings to give it a higher priority, but still consistently late. The Tasks that your computer has completed have a very long compute time. Under your account for Rosetta look at your Preferences for Rosetta and see what you have for a Targeted "CPU Run Time. ? Standard is 8 Hours |

Post: The sad truth is that the people who take care of the software/hardware, i.e. the sysadmins, and the people who use the software, i.e. the biochemists or whatever they're called) seem to live in different realities. And some of us question if either the Sysadmin's or the Biochemists ever poke their noses into the Forums. A once a month visit should be the minimum in my opinion. Bill Freauff Dallas Texas |

Post: Actually I never "walk away" from any Project that I compute for on any of my systems. I only set a Project to "no new tasks" if the Project Admin forecast's an extended outage. I continue to crunch Rosetta and Ralph work as it is available. But I don't modify any of my systems for the benefit of a single project unless the change is neutral or beneficial top all projects.
