Whw I ask for tasks on my Windows 11 PC I get six Rosetta 4.20 and one rosetta python on my Intel i5 9400F The 4.20 tasks error out immediately and the rosetta python completes and validates.

I see only Instructions to build native applications in LHC@home message boards using Debian Linux. I am running SuSE Tumbleweed in Einstein@home and QuChemPedIA@home. But I see a wrapper runniing in the last case.

I have been running both Linux and Windows applications in LHC@home.Even if using Linux you must use VirtualBox. There are "native" Linux applications but you have to build them yourself, by using Debian Linux. Since I am using SuSE Linux I cannot build them. I have been running Test4Theory@home at LHC in 2010, using Linux, and got a letter of thanks from Ben Segal. Now I am using Windows.

I have an AMD Ryzen 5 1400 CPU with 8 processors and 24 GB RAM, plus a GTX 1060 GPU Board, rarely used . It runs most World Community Grid tasks plus a Linux Virtual Machine with 8 GB RAM and 30 GB disk, running SuSE Linux Tumbleweed with a 5.16.4 kernel frequently updated. If I try to run rosetta python tasks it iells me that it needs 19 GB of disk space and I have only 10 free for BOINC, so I don't get any, but I get Rosetta 4.20 tasks when available.

On my QuChemPedIA@home project my Windows11 tasks, using VirtualBox, are routinely faster than their Linux wingmen, although the latter often have a faster CPU. This is against all logic, but I see it on my tasks. I am number 35 on te RAC credits list.

I have installed virtualbox, but the program still notice me vbox is not installed, and I can't get any work now

I think you should reboot so the OS sees that VirtualBox is installed. I am using 6.1.32 on all PCs, Windows or Linux.

I started Rosetta@home on my AMD Ryzen 5 1400 CPU with 24 GB RAM but only 10 GB disk free for BOINC, so in won't run rosetta python. Of 5 Rosetta tasks 3 failed immediately aftar starting, two are running with a D8.15_nme3 string in their name that the other 3 did not have.. On the Intel i5 9400F CPU no task failed so far, either Rosetta or rosetta python.

Comment in the 3 failed tasks: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION

I had selected also Biology but I still would get only Milkyway and Asteroid. I have two GPU boards running Einstein, a GTX 1060 with 3 GB RAM and a GTX 1650 with 4 GB RAM. My latest PC has a AMD Ryzen 4500U which has graphic capabilities, but it is slower compared to the two GTX boards. There was a period when Gravitational Waves GPU tasks required more than 3 GB RAM and I had to buy the GTX 1650 board.

One of my computers, that with an AMD Ryzen 5, stil lhas Windows 10. Two others, one Intel and one AMD, have Windows 11. I use the Windows Defender as antivirus, updated almost daily. When I had another Virus defender some LHC projects wuld not run.

"Still has windows 10"? Maybe I need to leave the updates running to get more chance. I disabled those pesky things because a reboot every other day is beyond a joke. I just do a manual update every 3 months. The last time was a week or so ago, and all I got was the oldest machine saying "we're working on compatibility with this processor" and the 2nd oldest saying "this is not compatible". The decent machines didn't even get a mention.

On the Windows 10 CPU with 24 GB RAM I have installed a Linux Virtual Machine with SuSE Tumbleweed OS, a development version running only two projects, QuChemPedIA@home and Einstein@home.it has VirtualBox but no GPU since it cannot use the GTX 1060 of its host. It is updated very frequently and I have to reboot it every time. Its kernel is now 5.16.0.
