3 tasks, but no oune wil be crunched, "zur ausführung bereit"
(Message 106328)
Posted 29 May 2022 by YAG Post: I am sorry I am arriving late (the tasks are expired). If you continue to experience it, there are two interesting places for obtaining more info about the issue: 1.- Boinc logs, in the menu Tools -> Event register. 2.- VBox and rosetta logs. The folder depends in the Linux distribution and boinc compilation you are using. In my system, the path is /var/lib/boinc-client/projects/boinc.bakerlab.org_rosetta I had an issue affecting only to vbox tasks, and was due to a permissions issue that is affecting to several non-updated projects: https://quchempedia.univ-angers.fr/athome/forum_thread.php?id=166&postid=1681#1681 vbox tried to create the files in a path boinc was not authorized to. The parameter was changed in 2016: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=systemd-New-Protect-Tunables. |

Problems and Technical Issues with Rosetta@home
(Message 102795)
Posted 21 Sep 2021 by YAG Post: Hello, Why could I receive the message "Communication with VM Hipervisor failed"? In the VBox register appears the error «Failed to create the VirtualBox object! NS_ERROR_SOCKET_FAIL (0xC1F30200) IPC Daemon socket error.» I have the Boinc version 7.16.16 and the VirtualBox 6.1.26 r145957 running on Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye) [5.10.0-8-amd64|libc 2.31 (Debian GLIBC 2.31-13)]. The boinc user is added to the vboxusers, vboxguests and libvirt groups. Any clue about what could be happening? I have no experience with VirtualBox, I installed it just as a Rosetta@home requirement. |

Posted 30 May 2020 by YAG Post: Good afternoon, Iverbpunkt, It happened to me, too. It is not often, but sometimes downloads hang up. When it happens, I select the downloads, cancel them and BOINC starts to communicate again without trouble. I suggest you to make a try just with the downloads. Then, you can try with the uploads (just one at first, and so). Regards, YAG. |
