As far as I know this project has never supported android.

I don't know if you're joking or not, the application page clearly shows a Rosetta Android program. It's just that Rosetta Beta doesn't support Android, and the old Rosetta has been out or WUs for some time.

CloudFlare creating roadblocks all over the place

Definitely. I can't attach my project because CloudFlare thinks my IP is dirty and is serving my BOINC client damned Captchas.

systemd generated a coredump for rosetta 4.20 because it received a Segmentation Fault (SIGSEGV) so I uploaded it here. Dev can use it to debug if they want (or not).

Can't. Cloudflare is challenging my BOINC client for a captcha duel. LMAO.

Many of the huge core count systems would be set and forget corporate systems- they attach them to the project to give them a workout before they go into production. If they notice they're not getting their workout, they'd probably just move them to another project with work- they're not going to spend the time trying to figure out what the problem is and how to work around it.

Yeah, it's quite horrifying a news for me (almost like seeing a canary died in coal mine) but also understandable. I would have also switched too if it wasn't because Rosetta is the only few bio/med research BOINC projects around. It's much easier to crunch Milkyway tbh.

Edit: Didn't know DENIS@Home is back, would check it out.

I became "top 5% RAC" instead of the original "top 25% RAC", but I have not upgraded or introduced new hardware in any way. This is bad because it probably means some top computation contributors left the project due to system instability.

when will the project add native Apple Silicon for at least one application?

Not likely. The project is a mess now and all kinds of technical problems aren't even being addressed. The possibility of them adding ARM64 MacOS support is very slim.

I've only just added bwsrv1 to that personalDNSfilter app I was told about wrt the alternate boinc-files server

That, and Rosetta Beta doesn't have Android applications to begin with. Rosetta traditional (Rosetta 4.20) just started to have some tasks today.

My BOINC 8.0.2 (x64) cannot UPload the 27 calculated and "ready to report" tasks for Rosetta Beta 6.06 .

The BOINC Message center shows this:
01.04.2025 14:02:13 | Rosetta@home | Scheduler request completed
01.04.2025 14:02:13 | Rosetta@home | Server error: feeder not running

Rosetta's DNS configuration is botched. The IPv6 address record (AAAA) is pointing to an malfunctioning server. You can disable IPv6 on your BOINC runner, or add domain-IP records in hosts file yourself:
#Rosetta@home
128.95.160.156 boinc-files.bakerlab.org
128.95.160.156 bwsrv1.bakerlab.org

These project issues and workarounds are generally discussed in Number Crunching section of this forum, make sure to check :)

But how do you disable for baker lab and leave it on for everything else? That's where I am stuck at.

idk, on Linux you can run BOINC in a container (like LXC) and disable IPv6 in there (or just a network namespace if you're skillful). On Windows, nothing came to my mind except a virtual machine (which will is heavier and have performance overhead, so I can't recommended that) with IPv6 disabled in guest OS.

Make sure your device have IPv6 disabled and try again. R@H is probably having misconfigured DNS configurations again.

RAH is supposed to be plug and play and none of this deep windows stuff.

Not really deep, they haven't required us to mess with Windows Driver Signature Enforcement or Linux kernel parameters/modules.

Jokes aside I agree. These constant system fuckery really is burning every volunteer's energy to figure out and apply band-aids everywhere in our runners, while it should be their work to make sure their system works fine. I almost give up this time and went to Milkyway@Home this time.

RAH is supposed to be plug and play and none of this deep windows stuff.

Greg, Greg,, Greg, Greg, Greg...

How long have you been here and you come out with that?
You and I both know you know better than that

Lol

On Linux, to disable IPv6 temporarily (reverted after a reboot), execute as root:
sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=1

To disable IPv6 permanently:
Add to /etc/sysctl.conf
net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=1

Or to disable IPv6 for a specific network, add this to your network-manager connection file (/etc/NetworkManager/system-connection/xxx.nmconnection) and reconnect this network connection:
[ipv6]
method=disabled

Note: It's your sole responsibility to make sure such changes don't affect other works you need to complete on this OS.

lack of communication from the project admins, inconsistent work, news regarded Rosetta focusing on AI-powered model

Where did they say Rosetta would focus on AI-powered model? I can only find an announcement that mentioned AI and it basically said "deep learning based models have limitations on small molecule and peptide design, so we developed a virtual screening protocol named RosettaVS to cover this".
