Compressing Rosetta Executables
(Message 32031)
Posted 3 Dec 2006 by Fetisoff Post: All of these ideas would help, however they take time to implement. All we are really asking for now is to just let us know in advance, when the new version is coming out, so someone like Agafonov can just download the file once, and then manually copy it to all of his computers |

Compressing Rosetta Executables
(Message 31901)
Posted 1 Dec 2006 by Fetisoff Post: Why not announce the fact that the new client version is to be released very soon (I know RALPH is an indication, but yet again, not all versions tested in RALPH actually make it over to Rosetta), and place a link to the executable file on this page http://boinc.bakerlab.org/apps.php a day (maybe even few hours in advance) giving traffic-concious crunchers enough time to download it themselves, before BOINC actually has to...?? |

Posted 16 Oct 2006 by Fetisoff Post: Jose I'm not here to argue with you; I've simply brought up an issue that is interesting to me, and apparently some other people; you're entitled to your own opinion, and I respect it; that being said, I'm entitled to my own, and I think that this is an OK topic for a public discussion; |

Posted 16 Oct 2006 by Fetisoff Post: Jose: actually they haven't contacted the server since Nov2005 and Dec2005 respectively And to clear something up: I am not accusing anybody of anything, read my second post in this thread, I've said that if it were most other projects, maybe I could quickly jump to some wrong conclusions; but Rosetta seems to be a well set-up and organized project; |

Posted 16 Oct 2006 by Fetisoff Post: Seems like they just randomly select "Top Predictors". Really makes you wonder doesn't it? I mean if it was a smaller, less organized project I'd be more suspicious of the project results and overall scientific value, however Rosetta seems to be a project that is "for real"; however I'd still like to hear some explanation for the "Top predictors" glitch. |

Posted 16 Oct 2006 by Fetisoff Post: I just looked at the new CASP results (CASP7 target T0330 domain2), and two of the four "top predictors" have total credit of 0.00 (maverick and Kerr Sweetin), how is this possible? |
