I see I'm not the only one who wished there was an option in the preferences as to which work units I want!

I have a Virtual Box installed but even when it's closed, BOINC downloads Python wu's. These are MASSIVE memory hogs at around 7.6gig each. As a result, I have both standard & Python running but w/u's queued up due to insufficient memory. (I have 32gig)

If I had a choice, I'd only enable the standard wu's instead of the Python one's but there's no way to toggle one or the other. To be honest, I aborted the work and moved onto another project. That's not a win for Rosetta@Home.
I guess I could just let my pc's crunch as much as possible and leave it be. I'd still like to see an option in the preferences.

I have a question which fits here.
Which O/S produces the most credits? Windows 10 or Ubuntu?
Surely someone knows and for those chasing the most output, this is a great question.

Thanks for the tips on fixing this. I came back from a holiday and it was open 107 times on my browser!!
That was the most annoying thing I've come across in my years with BOINC.

I removed Rosetta from my project list but it still pops up!
I've run every virus scan, spyware etc and can't shake the stupid thing.

Hi all,

My little sister has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. As a result at the ripe old age of 32, she has had to have a mastectomy. This will be followed by around 8 needles (self administered), ultrasounds, blood tests and then egg harvesting for fertility treatment next week... THEN chemo straight after that for 6 months. Following THAT is 5 weeks of radiation therapy.

Family is everything to me so I'm spreading the word of my sisters Go Fund Me page to help out with all the associated medical expenses. It's going to be a real uphill battle and lets face it......... cancer SUCKS!

To date the most support our family has received has been from the BOINC community (big shout out to my fellow team mates at BOINC@AUSTRALIA for their support)
It's fantastic to see that crunchers from around the world pool together in more ways than just CPU/GPU crunching.

Traditionally I've been a cruncher of space projects but I now plan to expand into medical research due to my sisters plight.

Obviously there's no pressure but if anyone wants to donate, here's the link.

Thank you and crunch on!
