There is one Boinc project whose message boards are not moderated. Some time ago, a thread was started in which the poster advocated killing, assassination, and beheading. This thread has been on the board for months. I posted my feelings and detached from the project. Some of you out there may be tired of my rant about this, but I'm still shocked by the violence advocated in that thread. Freedom of Speech is not absolute, especially when advocating violence and hate. Moderation is not necessarily censorship.

Writing an email to the developers of the project, calmly and diplomatically explaining the proof that the accused is doing inappropriate things, and then showing how similar people have been dealt with on other Boinc projects should allow it to be dealt with properly. If you've managed to get them to remove your posting privileges on their forums, then you need to calm down, step back, and diplomatically write them and probably apologize. (I listed all the failings a company made in dealing with my order - and the bum was so offended that he refused to do business with me ever again - so I'm not perfect in the diplomacy department. :) Apologize for what ???

First of all I would exit BOINC and restart and see if the WU "revives". If that isn't the case I'd abort it. I can't exit Boinc immediately because my machine is running also uFluids@home. This application has no checkpoint. I have began a wu "zerobubble" and after 7h 34 min of cpu time, the % done is at 39 %. So i need to wait. For now i suspended my wu Rosetta.

Is the idle process getting all the CPU time when this WU is "running"? ............ Is there anything in the messages around the time that this WU stopped? Exactly, the cpu time is not increasing. If the WU is really stuck (which happens rarely), Rosetta will auto-terminate it after an hour and return the result. The problem is that the wu 1di2 is in this state since 2 days now. Perhaps i must abort the wu. (?)

It might just be a slow spot in the WU. Give it some time. If it's really stuck, then the watchdog should get it. The watchdog then sends back a lot of information about the WU that is useful to the project. I did a screenshoot with this wu "not working" (1di2) and an other wu working (2tif)

From this the max time is calculated. If the number was too low, there is not enough time to do all the operations so the Result times out. ==== edit Results that would never complete are what this is ment to address. The problem is that if the time to complete/# operations to complete is highly variable choosing the "right" value is difficult. Thanks for your answer :) but OPS ? operations, i guess and a new acronym for your "BOINC Acronyms" ;) and how is calculated the max time ?
