I've just been bashing my head to get it running, I had to keep clearing disk till I had well over 1.5GB despite 200MB supposedly being the minimum. Finally I got the same memory shortage error as everyone else - I thought it was just me: |30/11/07 23:42:33|rosetta@home|Scheduler request succeeded: got 0 new tasks |30/11/07 23:42:33|rosetta@home|Message from server: Your computer has only 401674240 bytes of memory; workunit requires 398325760 more bytes |30/11/07 23:42:33|rosetta@home|Message from server: No work sent |30/11/07 23:42:33|rosetta@home|Message from server: (there was work but your computer doesn't have enough memory) what do we do next? it's not some virtual memory thing is it? if one app. is heavy duty, I don't think you can switch on and off each application (5.82 & 5.85 etc.) separately on Rosetta can you? b.t.w. the PC is a 600MHz athlon with 384MB. on the main pc I do long wu's like cpdn and einstein but projects with short wu's are best for the old banger. my hope was to use Rosetta on any other host I set up to keep the CPIDs in line and all tied together. cheers / another Pete :-) ps: oh, windows task manager on v.5.85 running on the other pc says it's using 185-210k fluctuating a bit (and cpdn coupled model is using half that). |
