Thank you for your help but unfortunately, i still get errors. The access violation (0xc0000005) errors occurs nearly in every WU but there were two other errors that occured, hopefully this allows someone to point to a possible reason:

* task id 364146922

- Unhandled Exception Record -
Reason: Illegal Instruction (0xc000001d) at address 0x00518ED1

* task id 364147006 and 364147004

I don´t understand the error but i occured after only 30s
(error in zipped file?)

I am looking forward to hearing any answer and again thx a lot for your help mikey!

Hi guys,

I´m getting this error (0xc0000005) too on my new machine

Suggestions anyone?
Thanks in advance!

Now I think you SHOULD have the setting set to keep swapped units in memory. You have 3.5 gig of memory and are probably trying to run 8 units all at once, right? Are you running other projects too? If so stop those for a bit and see if the Rosie units stop erroring out.

Hi mikey,

Thx for your fast reply!

I am only running rosetta. I have already played around with some computing preferences. WU are set to "leave in mem" since yesterday, unfortunately, i still get the same error. I have also played with the number of cores to use, no change. I´m starting to think there could be some issue with hyperthreading and win xp? Unfortunately, i cannot turn it off for testing since my bios does not have that option. I will give it one more try right now. I might be missing something obvious but I´m out of ideas right now...
Just in case, here are my computing preference settings:

I ran some test and found this out: when one marks the "while computer is in use" preference, boinc runs even after one exits the application.
I can however live with the snooze command, thank you very much for your help.

Thanks for the fast reply!
I want to manually control boinc. However, when I exit the application, windows task manager shows me that it STILL continues to run! That is what I don´t understand.
Mostly, when I use the machine, I want boinc to run. Sometimes and not regularly however, I run cpu intense applications and then I want boinc to stop.
In the preferences menu, under processor usage, I can mark/unmark the "while computer is in use" to control boinc but I find this procedure a bit annoying.
( If marked, is that the reason why boinc continues to run even after manual exit?)
Thanks in advance!

I have Boinc Manager 5.4.11 installed on my old machine. Here, I simply choose to start boinc.exe by doubleclicking the icon. To stop boinc, I just exit the application.
On my new machine however, with version 6.2.19, boinc.exe continues to run all the time even after I (believe ) disabled it through msconfig.exe. In short, I want boinc to start and stop exactly when I choose to do so. The preferences menu does not provide me with this option as far as I know. Can anyone help me on this issue? Thanks a lot

is 364 y overdue oops. The thing is that my statistic now looks like a straight line with some local background (i subscribed like 2 month ago to rosetta) in it... :-(
Would someone maybe have a look at it?
thx

i got a pentium D processor 2*2660 MHz and i ajusted my general preferences properly ( use at most 2 processors).
Why does my diagnose prog (Everest) only mention one cpu in usage at 100 % and not both of them?
thanks to all who can help me
