Still having trouble getting work here, getting the same message relating to having insufficient memory.

Same here. All of my Mac OS boxes are asking for more memory and no work being accomplished. I'm shutting 9/10's of the farm down today since I'm leaving for a few months. Hope RH gets the kinks out before I get back.

The processors are the same (pretty much) and it's down to the OS & compiler.

Since the OS-X Compiler should compile with all sort od modern switches are it's targeting Core2 processors err, you would think it would run a touch faster.

Anyone know what compiler they use ?

Here's from the Ni site, comparing the two platforms.

Because from what I have seen RH on the Mac platform does not credit enough vs
the Windows platform.

Ah. I know this to be true with the OSX/PPC. Are you seeing this with OSX/Intel too?

FYI, even windows and linux apps are under-credited to some degree too.

I ran RH on the OSX partition overnight and noticed a points difference compared to RH on the XP partition. Now with Intel pros shouldn't they be pretty much the same?
Check out my stats on this box-both Darwin and XP.

Still not understanding why not running the native OSX/Intel app.

Not quite sure what you meant, can you elaborate on this?

Rosetta has an OSX/Intel application. Why not use it? Why go to the trouble to run another OS on you Mac, just to use a Win or Linux app?

Because from what I have seen RH on the Mac platform does not credit enough vs
the Windows platform. IMHO if I can burn through and produce more results to help out the project then I'm going to run the one that is the better performer.
Now if it runs as fast as the XP, then I'll run it when booted into the Mac OS.
It all boils down to this: Simply a matter of choice, namely mine.

To semi-quote a MAC commercial I just watched.

"The fastest Vista computer tested by (fill in the blank) this year was a MAC".

:-)

Should work fine.

Going fine, first 24 hr break in and the duals are showing up and running 4 WU.

BTW, I am a PC, not MAC user, but if I had the money, I think I would be part of the converted masses at home. At work, I am a Microsloth Sys Admin, so that is where I am coming from.

Thanks all for the input shared. I'm either going to run it on XP or possibly Linux. Not in it for the points but for the crunch, the more you do the more results for the project. I shake my head when I see a little Sony DC laptop I have crunching twice the amount of my G5 2.5 dualie. We'll see how the new one does in a few days.

Hi,
I'm upgrading to a Apple Mac Pro MA356LL/A Intel Xeon 5150 2.66GHz with 3gigs ram. Plan on running bootcamp so I can dual boot, and will probably partition for Linux as well.

I did a site search but couldn't find any posts about running Bootcamp/XP Pro and Rosetta on a mac so if anyone has some input I would appreciate it. My macs that I have running RH don't get the credit like my Win boxes, so I'm thinking about running it on the XP boot.
Waste of time? If so I'll run Eisenstein.
Thanks for any input. I posted this on the other message board with no response, so I'm trying it here.

I had another project running on 2 of my Macs but moved over to RH, since the completion time was taking 5-15 days. Seems the Powerbook G4 and MDD run RH a little slower but still completing WU's without errors.

Hi all,
Newbie to RH, and just a quick question. Is it normal to have 23 Wu's lined up in the tasks?
