Large usage of hard drive
(Message 77971)
Posted 23 Feb 2015 by Socrbob Post: Right, you can specify the data directory for BOINC to use. But the result would be all project data for all BOINC projects going to that location. BOINC, in general, should be running with low disk I/O rates, and so moving all of your BOINC data off of the SSD should not impact your BOINC efficiency. Thank you for the suggestion. However, when I try to install BOINC to a larger drive I get the message that BOINC will only run on the drive that the OS is installed on. Do you have any other suggestions? |

Large usage of hard drive

Posted 25 Jan 2015 by Socrbob Post: Thank you for the reply. Is there any way to put these reference files on a different drive? Or would I have to move Boinc to a different drive. I am running OS X Yosemite. They currently are located on my ssd which is quite full and I would like to make better use of its space. |

Dropping average credit?
(Message 30813)
Posted 8 Nov 2006 by Socrbob Post: Generally ignore the cliamed credit since there is a different credit claiming system used here at Rosetta@home, I think how it is calculated is in the technical nes, but it's certainly in the Number Crunching section of the main message board. Thank you for your reply. I am running on 2 computers. The second one is on a wireless connection that seems to drop out after some time of non use. Could this be the problem? Is there a setting where my wireless computer will only try and send/recieve units when it is connect online? |

Dropping average credit?
(Message 30559)
Posted 3 Nov 2006 by Socrbob Post: Can anyone explain why my average credit, which was going steadly upward since I recently joined, is dropping. It had gone to a high of 197.6 on Oct.14,06, and since that time has dropped to 169.8 as of Nov, 2,06. I do not recall changing any preference settings, all units show being completed and the granted credit is within +/- 10 of the claimed credit. Is anyone else having this situtation? |
