Looks like we need to get Mod.Canada out in the limelight a bit more often, so all 4 Muskateers can be represented and the list can be complete!

A note to the other two moderators DE and Sense:
This is flaming.
If your fellow Moderator continues flaming , then do not complain when people flame back at him.

I think the time has come for you two to have a nice talk with Moderator T.
He is definitively ruining the good work you are trying to do.

To Mod T: Enjoy your power trip while it lasts. BTW you need a spell cheker... What is a Muskateer?

"Crawl back in your hole"?

I think you`ll find that was mine...in reply to an equally defamatory post by <edit>.....

I would never ask why such a post was deleted, the fact you reproduce shows the words are not strong, nevertheless it was aimed as an insult, to which I understand deletion.

How would you have reacted if I would have edited your post and deleted the last line with an edit-message, such as: "please no insults"?

Hi DE: At least grant Carl the fact that "Crawl back in your hole " is less inflamatory than what your co-moderator T is doing.

Deleted the Nemesis:
Speculation about moderator identity will not be tolorated. --Mod.Sense

How about speculation on why Moderator T has become the biggest and most annoying flamer in this and other threads? Sense: he has. And he is ruining all the good will ( and the good work) you and DE are trying to do.

Moderator T has become the poster child of why annonymous moderating should not be permited.

Worst, he is becoming an issue by and of himself: Why are the project managers allowing a known flamer, a person that is a clear partisan and has by his actions created more problems than he has solved to remain as a moderator?

I'd be surprised if I hadn't made a typo or spelling error in my 113 posts here. When I read through more than 100k of text I'd written years ago, I noticed that I'd consistently spelled mischievously as mischieviously. So I'll be the first to admit that I'm capable of making spelling errors. As long as the spelling is close enough, it shouldn't be a problem to understand.

As for Muskateers:
The Three Muskateers
1973 version
The Four Muskateers
from 1974.
These were based on the works of Alexandre Dumas.

The BOINC package does not allow moderators to edit posts. For some reason the BOINC developer have made clear that they won't change this, so there is little hope that this will be possible in future.

So dump it and get a forum package that does what is needed. This was brought up before and people were told to get in touch with Bok from Free DC.
He knows forum software as no one else that I'm aware of.
It might not be free software but what in life that is worthwhile is free?

<cough>exactly</cough>
but that's not up to me, though it is the first thing a lot of us said back in Novemeber last year (and that was nothing to do with mod operations.. lol

To be fair it's probably more hassle than they want (they'd have to stop this, setup their own forum so they have complete control) It would be much easier if D.'boinc'Anderson implemented what the projects require (and what other have made for him) than not listen and do it how he personally likes.

Are there extensions/modifications for the current BOINC forum available? The good thing about the boinc forum is, that it links your account to the forum, so everybody is able to post without the need to register again.

I don't knowwhether it's an extension, but at least Willy did somethimg over @BOINCstats that's slightly different. Probably not in regard of mods, as the athmosphere from the posters is friendly, not hostile as here.
Pirates has some different things as well, like mandated preview before posting and restricted space for sigs, but afaik as well nothing in regards of mods.

The anonymity of mods has it's merits especially in an hostile athmosphere like her at the moment, as users will not get hold of the real acount of the mods, and so can't harras them somewhere else.

In a friendly athmosphere it's of course not necessary, even mods won't be necessary besides getting rid of spammers.

I took a look. There are more sections and they experiment with a preview option. While a preview option is interesting it's not so crucial as long as you can edit your posts. What would be really cool is a private messaging system but I suppose this is much work.

Saenger: the anonymity of the mods is one of the reasons things get angry here. No ones likes to face an annonymous inquisitor. And yes I agree with you..in a friendly atmosphere no mods are needed. So let's start making this friendlier by not having anonymous mods.
